THE D'SHAW INSTITUTE OF COSMETOLOGY BOISE, IDAHO The D'Shaw Institute of Cosmetology is a Hair School created by hairstylists FOR hairstylists. Our Cosmetology School was opened in July 2007 by three brothers, Dustin Shaw, Ren Shaw, and Nathan Shaw. Our hair academy is licensed in the State of Idaho to provide students with a complete Cosmetology curriculum which will allow students to license and perform all aspects of Cosmetology including Hair, Skin (esthetics), and Nails. With our combined 36 years of experience, and numerous accomplishments (refer to the tab "who we are" for a partial list of our individual credentials), we have established what we know to be the most well-rounded curriculum in the Cosmetology and Hair Industry. WHAT IS TAUGHT THROUGH OUR CURRICULUM AT THE D'SHAW INSTITUTE? The 2000 hour course includes but is not limited to the following: The History of Hairdressing Theory-Lecture, Dictation, Oration, Demonstration, & Application Anatomy Science Cosmetic Chemistry All Aspects of Cosmetology Guest Artists Fashion Shows Photo Shoots Charity Events Safety and Sanitation Marketing Networking Self Promotion Financial Planning And much more... We have the connections, ideas, experience, and knowledge to help each Individual Student accomplish their own personal goals and objectives in this industry. WHEN CAN I START SCHOOL AT D'SHAW INSTITUTE OF COSMETOLOGY? We have 6 starting classes per year. We start a new class the first Tuesday of every odd month, January, March, May, July, September, and November. Class sizes are limited, so contact us to secure your spot. The Institute is opened Tuesday through Friday 8a.m-5p.m and Saturday 8:30a.m.-5p.m. HOW DO I ENROLL AT D'SHAW INSTITUTE OF COSMETOLOGY? Call us (208-345-6164) and schedule an Entrance Interview with one of the Shaw Brothers or with our School Director Patty Corl. You must be at least 16 1/2 years old, have a valid ID, and ONE of the following; A High School Diploma, a GED, or proof of successful completion of the 10th Grade. We will discuss enrollment date, financial options, class schedule and curriculum, and final contract. We will also answer any and all of your questions. Let's get started!
